Restricted Vienna: Documenting the history of racial convenants and workshopping their removal

As a part of the fourth annual Liberty Amendments Month, learn about the history of housing discrimination and the role that racial covenants played in the Town of Vienna and in Fairfax County in a lecture and workshop led by Dr. Krystyn Moon, professor of history and American studies at Mary Washington University. Georgia Brown from the Fairfax County Circuit Courts Historic Records will share information about how to research land records in the historic court archives. In the workshop that follows speakers and staff from the Fairfax County Circuit Court and Tengco Law PLLC will assist you in researching your property and filling out the necessary paperwork to remove racial restrictions from your land records.
