Liberty and Libraries: Author Talk and Unveiling of Patrick Henry Library Redesign Plans -The Role Libraries Play in Enhancing Equality and Individual Rights

Join Fairfax County Public Libraries librarians Chris Barbuschak and Suzanne LaPierre as they profile their new book "Desegregation in Northern Virginia Libraries."  The duo will speak about the major civil rights activists who successfully desegregated local public libraries during the Jim Crow era.  The presentation will highlight parts of the story that include the Vienna community and the establishment of the Patrick Henry Library.  Copies of the book will be available for sale.

Library Director Jessica Hudson and a representative from the county's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Team will unveil design plans for the new Patrick Henry Library to the public for the first time.
