A distinguished panel of historians and archivists will provide some answers to this question at a panel discussion on "Vienna at 1775"

Sponsored by the ViennaVA250 Committee, the panelists will talk about the environment, the people who lived here (and who didn’t!), the local economy, religion, and the courts. How many people were living within our modern boundaries on the eve 1776? Who were they? Where did they come from? What did they do and what did they believe?

This panel discussion will set the stage for a deeper understanding of the events leading up to the Declaration of Independence, and Vienna’s role in that remarkable era.What was the area we now call “Vienna” like on the eve of
the War for Independence?
