DESCRIPTION:Vienna Launches New Business Campaign During\n\nMay Virginia Business Appreciation Month\n\n \n\nMay 15\, 2020 (Vienna\, VA) - Today the Town of Vienna announced the launch of a new business appreciation campaign featuring week-long activities to recognize and celebrate the town's businesses during May Virginia Business Appreciation Month. The grassroots style appreciation campaign titled "ViennaUnited" will take place during the week of May 18-22\, 2020 and will shine a light on the Town's diverse makeup of businesses and owners. Vienna is home to over 1\,800 independent and small businesses and continues to evolve and grow from an economic standpoint attracting new businesses to open up in the charmed town. The Town partnered with Vienna Business Association\, Vienna Foodies\, and the Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation on this campaign.\n\n \n\nThe week-long campaign features activities that the community can get involved in such as:\n\n \n\n\n	Vienna Bingo   A family-friendly fun activity that provide folks a safe way to support Vienna businesses while social distancing. Bingo card can be downloaded here  \n	Promotions & Offerings from local businesses\n	Business Drive-By Community Challenge   consumers are encouraged are to make signs and drive by their favorite Town business flashing their signs of encouragement and support. Individuals are encouraged to tag the business on social media and use hashtag #ViennaUnited\n	Virtual Business Awards   People's Choice style awards where folks can nominate businesses categories such as Entrepreneur of the Year\, Excellence in Customer Service\, and Give Back Award. viennava.gov/peopleschoice\n\n\n \n\n"The health crisis has impacted our businesses   many of which have been here for several generations and help make the up the core fabric of Vienna\," said Natalie Monkou Town of Vienna Economic Development Manager. "More than ever before\, we need to show appreciation to our business community as we also consider the next steps toward recovery. This is a small but visual step in showing our support and showcasing the innovation and resiliency that is present in our Town."\n\n \n\nTown businesses that had to fully close or adjust their business operations due to the pandemic (fitness studios\, hair salons\, restaurants) have been busy implementing their safety procedures and new operation guidelines under Governor Northam's Phase 1 Reopening Plan for Northern Virginia now scheduled to take place on May 29.\n\n \n\nThe Town of Vienna has been working with businesses and regional partners to prepare for the State of Virginia's Phase 1 re-opening. Throughout the health crisis\, the Town has worked hard to provide a wealth of resources to help businesses get through this crisis. Examples include the Town's COVID-19 business resources page\, a weekly e-newsletter to residents and businesses\, and a business impact survey created in partnership with the Vienna Business Association and the Town Business Liaison Committee.
