DESCRIPTION:James Madison High School Wings Program is looking for local businesses and community organizations who would be willing to host Seniors for career shadowing in May for 2 weeks.\n\n\n\nThere is a Career Fair on Nov 10 at JMHS for seniors and businesses to get to know one another.\n\n\n\nWHAT is WINGS? WINGS is a 30 hour volunteer career shadowing / community service volunteer experience at a senior's choice of organization over a two week period. \n\n\n\nWHY do we offer WINGS? WINGS provides seniors an opportunity to \n\n  apply skills in a business setting \n\n  explore career and personal interests beyond the classroom\, and \n\n  build more connections between the community and the school \n\n\n\nWHEN Is WINGS? May 13 - May 24\, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (30 hours of service) \n\n\n\nHOW can local businesses and organizations support WINGS? \n\n\n\n  Volunteer your business / organization to host JMHS Seniors. \n\n      Please complete a brief interest form https://bit.ly/479qK7W by November. \n\n      We will share your information with seniors in November\, 2023. \n\n  Attend the Career Shadow & Community Service Fair - Friday\, November 10 at Madison High School or provide materials to share with seniors at the fair \n\n\n\nImportant Dates \n\n  Friday\, Nov. 10th \, 9:45 - 10:45: Career Shadow & Community Service Fair \n\n  October-February: Seniors contact businesses to request placement \n\n  March 6: Businesses should inform seniors of their placement \n\n  May 29: You are invited to the seniors' Presentations of Learning at Madison High School (time TBD) \n\n\n\nBusiness / Organization Commitments \n\nProvide 30 hours of volunteer experience* and provide a supervisor \n\n    Provide a clear description of the shadowing experience along with performance expectations \n\n    Offer seniors a variety of opportunities within the business to explore and develop skills to grow in their goals \n\n    Provide feedback on the senior's experience and goals.
